Since being catapulted into the spotlight by her showstopping turn on The Voice, Valerie Ponzio has made it her mission to shatter every precedent set for Latin artists in the world of country music. Hailing from El Paso, Texas, Valerie has become a pioneer for a new wave of inclusivity in Nashville. While in the Equal Access program, she was able to record two new songs, “Just a Bordertown” and “Desert Rain”, and release her EP Frontera on September 30th, 2022. The funding she received also allowed her to film two new music videos, both of which premiered on CMT, and on their Times Square billboard. It also helped her secure PR services and pay for digital advertising that furthered the reach of her music and make “Desert Rain” her most successful release to date. Through the program she also performed at the UK’s Long Road Festival, and locally was able to perform at Musician’s Corner, Opry’s Community Day, Whiskey Jam, The Bluebird Cafe, City Winery and more. She also became a member of The Song Suffragettes, an ACM Member, and a member of The Recording Academy.
